I found a way around the Bad Gateways on the forum:
1) When going on the superpower list, open two or more tabs.
2) Log in with all of them at once.
3) The moment you get onto the site, use one to go on the forums.
4) As soon as you get on forums, go on the Private Forum (if available). This puts you on a different server, protecting you from the cursed Bad Gateways.
5) Do what you want on the forum, then return to the main ones without using the"back" button. This keeps you on the special server as you check the normal forums, but you cannot use this tab to go on the main site, which is why you open multiple tabs. This also clears a Bad Gateway for someone else, most likely on the forum.

I've been using it for a while, but forgot to tell anyone. Hope it helps others; it's 100% effective for me.

I subscribed to the feeds so I can receive the latest posts (though I don't receive all of them) and have access to the forum at the same time. On a sidenote, I use the Topics View in a forum, which lists all the threads in counter-chronological order of their last post, and the List option in a thread, which allows a quick view of every single post and highlights the new ones. Hurray for Nabble!

@Myself: Why do you need to log in from multiple tabs? Only one is just fine. Every time you open the List in a tab, you send a new request to the server even though it's for the same page, and if there are too many requests: Happy 502!

ARGH...ended up getting my own power. I mean, while I DO love the heck out of that power, I also hate the fact I had to get it.
