"They were at my funeral!" Billy cries to Shields. "They're the ones I told you about. You know, them." He says, pointing at Zaubar. "The man I couldn't contact." He takes a deep breath and repeats very quickly. "Meeting someone whose funeral you attended casts you into momentary confusion over whether you yourself are alive, and during this confusion it's possible to entice certain entities that lurk the grey path. In the worst cases, you could be forever marked to things that lurk in the spirit world. Your soul isn't at risk, there's are!"

"I'm so sorry you got cured because of my incompetence, Miss Yamata-San." He says, bowing, before being struck with a thought. "Wait, you didn't know about the party? There was a huge party. I met that man there." He says, pointing at the fish faced sloth abomination now trying to make it's way slowly toward Shields and the Guardian. "No need to be so eager, Mr. Vaultboy, they'll be done soon." He calls to it before turning back to his friends. "He helped me with all this."

Billy's eyes flick down to the sword and nearly light up. "That is so incredibly fascinating. Do you go to the afterlife as a sword or as a person?"

"I've never bothered asking. My older sister, Kuroko and her friend, Jae-Ha, should know as they've been over there to retrieve valuable items that the dead wanted Jae-Ha to have... or so I'm told anyhow. I didn't study much of the lore on the afterlife for Soulsword wielders. All I know is that the Soulswords are weapons that come from the soul and have different forms for everybody. As well, by wielding one, it prevents the soul itself from being stolen, though there are a few weaknesses."

"Oh, I must visit your country after we finish up things here. I simply must!"

Vault could not believe what he was hearing. It was as though the kid had forgotten what he was here for. He desperately willed his slow bulk to move forward, toward Shields and the Guardian as another explosion rocked the room. Billy looked up as dust was shaken from the ceiling.

"My, but what is going on out there? Mr. Vaultboy mentioned something about robots."

"Right, about that, they were kind of in a rush up there," Asoka replies. "So when I got permission to come down here and look at the seal, it sounded like they were only giving me half of their attention. I'm not quite sure what is going on... but does it have to do with the party you mentioned Zauber?"

"I don't think so. It seemed like something bad was about to go down before I left. I couldn't miss the chance to meet some old friends though."
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Though, as to whether Aaron's home would still be habitable when he arrived, that remained to be seen. Barely another minute would pass before the serene sight of his world was interrupted with a hateful flurry of blasts across the Earth's outer atmospheric space. All across the globe, ships glided through the skies that the Earth had never known before. X-Wing Starfighters hurtled past at breakneck pace, flanking Na'Nipali Darkstriders, before they would vanish, having camouflaged in the dark of space.

Flying saucers and assorted robots and drones and droids fled the fury of various superheroes--Captain Marvel, Shazam, Superman, Wonder Man, and more--while other heroes--Batman, his Batfamily, Nick Fury, Captain America, the Winter Soldier, Black Widow, Hawkeye and more--would instead be targeted by numerous rockets and mechs and ships.

The Martian Manhunter found himself pounding full-force into the skull of his former friend, The Vision. At least, when he didn't find his blows passing intangibly through the Vision's form.

And whilst they fought, a strange giant robot, accompanied by a thin cloud of what looked like dust, dove past, to meet up against the force of Green Lantern.

Worse yet, Tony Stark would be of great help against the W.A.S.P. Antiphase Drifters and the Teletronic Transgauge Viper Ships--even the Mechanic's Trust, which had been hijacked from an intergalactic embassy, and highly weaponized, some years ago--but the extent to which he could be of any use at all, was limited by just how good he was at multitasking between them, and his own Technari-commandeered Iron Man suits. At times like this, he greatly appreciated that, for the most part, his rivalry with Hank Pym had been a playful one. The Yellowjacket's Sting was a most worthy vessel, and he wouldn't have been in space without it.

His passage across Aaron's path was swift, just like all the others. Yet, another presence would make itself known, in a short time thereafter, that seemed more determined to take its time. Just behind Aaron, about fifty yards back, space seemed to flicker, then ripple, shudder, and finally give way to a great whirling portal of purple-blue energy. Like the spear of a titan, a ship's great beak pierced the swirling vortex, presaging a massive bit of machinery. It had reached up to where Aaron was hovering in space, and still, the entire ship could not be seen.

When its full form finally did emerge, the vessel was easily more than 500 feet long, perhaps 100 feet wide, goldenrod-yellow, accented with jade green. Before Aaron could muster the presence of mind to register just how huge the thing was that floated before him, about fifty hatches opened on either side of the ship; and each of those 100 hatches poured forth 50 drones, the size of which determined from how high up up the ship they came. The lowest tier was small bots, followed by medium on the second tier up, then the large bots on the middle tier, and the fourth tier would have the ultra-bots, and the fifth tier (the highest up) would have the giga-bots.

As their legions rushed forth, past a stealth-covered Aaron, a final hatch would open at the very top. Robotic figures stepped out in familiar colors; one was blue and silver, and the other colored just like the ship. And though their talk would be inaudible to most, through the airless vacuum of space, radio receivers--or perhaps the keen perceptions of one cybernetic hero who happened to be within technopathic earshot--could easily pick up just what the two were saying:

"--and Motherboard Prime won't accept failure again, XJ-9, especially not as terrible as last time!"

"Cool your jets, Vexus! This time is way different!" the blue robot crossed its arms, "We have way more on our side than last time. And not just bots. Remember?"

"I most certainly do! But we've got quite some time before they arrive, haven't we?" the Cluster Queen snapped, "So, if you don't mind, I won't just be sitting here, waiting for my cue. Before I head into battle, let's see how Krakus and Smytus are doing with Bumblebee and Starscream are doing to locate the All-Spark, and transport it to Motherboard Prime's Master Locus!"
“…Judge not what a man has done, but judge what he could have done if he was a different bloke altogether. For art thou a leper? And a leper can changeth his spots…”   --Rudy Wade, Misfits (Series 4, Episode 8)

"Of course you couldn't. Now, down to business. Billy, why did you play dead, assuming you're still alive, and what are you doing here. Please answer in as concise a manner as possible that can be understood and give me at least three reasons why I shouldn't punch you in the gut, one of which is not that we are friends."

"I already explained why I couldn't show myself to you, or let any of you know I was still alive." Billy starts. "I mean, you attended my funeral. Meeting someone whose funeral you've attended invites spirits and bad luck to torment you, I couldn't let that happen. As for what I'm doing here...." He says, looking back at the huge door, before suddenly becoming very serious.

"This sort of conclusion is unacceptable, both to me and my patrons. That monster is still alive back there, trapped but alive, along with the last of his apostles. During my training, I saw them: the soul of every victim of this monster, trapped in the Black MAnor, unable to move on until this creature was brought to answers for it's crimes. Miss Yayata-San, there were thousands. More faces than I could even begin to count. I've been preparing for the past year to release the Red Eye and put an end to it. A way to undo Mr. Zaubars seal was the final step."

He turns back to Asoka. "As for reasons I have none," he says, sticking out his chin and folding his hands behind his back. "My gut is armored with bone, please strike me in the face."

Asoka pulls back her fist as ki travels into it, "Alright, I'm fine with taking on Red Eye and beating him into the ground... But dammit! My name isn't 'Yayata,' it's 'Yamata'!"

She swings her fist at Billy with intent to send him flying into the air.

"Wow...that's a LOT of robots..." Aaron thought to himself. He didn't have too much time to think though, as a Blue and White robot crashed in to him.

"Hey! Watch it! Wait, huh?" The robot said, she looked around and didn't see what she was bumping in to. Aaron turned off the retroflection panels and looked at the robot in awe. She was designed to look something like a teenage girl. Maybe it was his robot half talking, but Aaron found her almost... attractive.

"Wait? Who are you?" the robot asked. She then turned around and was grabbed by a cluster of red and green robots. She shrieked in surprise. Aaron's instinct took over. "Hang on!" he yelled. He formed plasma buzzsaw hands and jetted over. He hacked and slashed the tiny robots in to scrap. The armor was hard to penetrate, but after the initial break, they cut like butter.

"Woah. That was easy." Aaron said. The female robot pointed towards the debris and said "It's not over yet!". Sure enough, Aaron turned around and noticed that the bits of debris began floating towards a central point. Pressing and squishing together and forming a larger, Stag Beetle-like robot.

"Well, I'll tell you what, I've never seen them do that before!" The Robot said. Aaron faced the Beetle Bot. He held his buzzsaw arms in a battle stance. However, the Beetle Robot grabbed both of Aaron's arms, and pulled them in the opposite direction. A few short moments later, Aaron looked to each side of him, and saw his arms, floating away.

Aaron looked at his two arms floating in the different directions in space

"AUGH!!!!!!!!!! Wait... why doesn't this hurt?" He wondered. He looked on in awe as his arms disintegrated into electric blue clouds and moved towards his body, the clouds moved to where his arms would be and began building arms. They finished forming and Aaron looked at his new arms in surprise.

"Gee, THAT'LL come in handy. Heh, get it? Handy? Because... hands..." He said. Nothing but the sounds of battle could be heard.

"Anyone? Anyone at all? Wow, I guess in Space, nobody can hear you scream... or make a clever pun."

The Beetle Bot threw a punch at Aaron, sending him flying backwards. "Okay... OW!!" he yelled. Aaron flew towards the robot but only met the robot's OTHER fist. Aaron formed a sort of laser blaster on his right arm. He fired a few blasts and managed to blow off a piece of the robot's hand.

"Well, at least now I know you're not invincible." Aaron said. He began charging up shots on his blaster and aiming for where joints would most likely be. The intricacy of said joints would take a smidge longer to repair on the robot than just any other part on it. After locating where it would be on the legs, he fired.

"GUAH!" The robot cried. It was a direct hit. The leg floated in another direction, but the Beetle Bot moved towards it. However, Aaron fired another charged shot at the other leg. Another hit!

"Alright, so now that I've got those taken care of..." Aaron said. However, he was stopped mid by a red metal fist being rocketed in his face. He felt a tooth come loose and space started spinning. However, he felt the nanobot clouds swirl around inside his head and everything became straight again, that is until another fist flew into his face.

"OKAY YOU LITTLE PILE OF SCRAP!" Aaron yelled. "NOW I'M MAD!"

Aaron formed his legs and other arm into the same type of Blasters his one arm was. He charged up the shots, and waited until the now reformed robot was close enough. He used his computerized brain to lock on to where the shoulder joints, and hip joints would be.

"REBUILD FROM THIS, BEETLE BUTT!" He yelled. He fired the shots at once. All of the lasers met their mark. The robot's arms and legs floated off in four different directions. Aaron forged his hands into Rocket Thrusters, and his legs into a large drill. He flew away from the Robot's torso and then plotted a course in his head. He was going to aim for the Robot's head. He began spinning the drill at a super high speed.

"Yo, Female Robot... chick, person. Check THIS out!" He yelled. He turned his arms to that the rockets would propel him towards the robot's head. He slammed into the Beetle Robot's head and drilled straight through it. The Beetle Bot, was no more. Just a pile of scrap floating through space. Aaron changed all of his body parts back to normal.

"Wow! That was awesome how you just saved me!" The female robot said, pulling in Aaron for an embrace.

"Really?" Aaron said, shocked and pleased that this female was hugging him.

"Yeah, just one thing though." She said. "Make sure you know who's on who's side." She said, grinning evilly. She moved away from Aaron and held out her hands. A single pulse of Green energy flew out, and instantly, Aaron began to panic. His heart had stopped beating, and he was struggling to breathe. He had just been hit by an EMP.

"That little trick with your arms was neat. Let's see if you can do it with the rest of your body." She said, kicking Aaron towards Earth.

Clutching both his chest, and his consciousness, Aaron began to feel the sensation of falling. His body was shutting down. The EMP had shut down the nanobots that made up his body. The armor that shielded him from the cold of space began to recede back into his body, as he plummeted towards the Earth.

As he fell through Earth's atmosphere, feeling the harsh cold become a brutal, blistering heat as he fell faster towards the surface, Aaron made a realization. He realized that if he survived this fall, he couldn't trust anyone. Aaron saw the ground approach closer and closer, until he finally blacked out.

A young man stepped out of nothing and into the room.

He was dressed like someone who'd been rolled through a yard sale clothing pile. There were at least half a dozen belts, only half of which resided around his waist, two different coats, pants that seemed to be composed entirely of pockets and zippers, a set of headphones that looked like they began their life as heart-shaped valentine's day earmuffs, and a few dozen wristwatches sprinkled liberally about. Taken together with his unnaturally tomato-red hair and eyes, this had the effect of making him look like a cosplayer for an obscure twelve epsiode anime.

Whistling to the tune of some showtune duet, he proceeded to smile before opening his eyes.

The smile slowly slipped off his face as Red realized he had no idea where he was.

It was the first time in his independent existence that Three had ever had the opportunity to experience this sensation, and he found he really didn't care for it at all.

Looking around at the strangers, Red just shrugged, and closed his eyes. He opened them to find himself in exactly the same place as before.

"Awesome. Just awesome."
