Rejection is something Miracle is accoustemed to. Being ignored is another. Yet when this is experienced at the hands of someone you believe truly cares for you, it is painful beyond belief. The realization that a bond is not as deep as one thinks is heartbreaking. The person who has disappointed Miracle shall be named PD to preserve the identity of said person,
PD: (for the fifth time in a row) I'm sorry sweetie. I'm a busy with my * insert item here*. I can't talk to you right now.
Miracle:...Oh..Okay. Bye.
INSIDE MIRACLE'S HEAD
Miracle: Ouch. That burnt.
Tragedy: What did you expect? That he actually gave a damn?
Miracle: He said he cared about me.
Tragedy: That's called lipservice. He talked all that good, inspiring sh_ but didn't live up to it.
Miracle: But he's a good person. He said he's help.
Tragedy: 'Good person'? Hoeny, he used to be a drug dealer.
Miracle: Yeah, but he became a pastor!
Tragedy: Whatever. He lied. He isn't as concerened as you thought.
Miracle: But...he said..
Tragedy: He's a man. A black man at that. They lie. They can't be trusted. Has he ever made time for you? Ever been there when needed? No? Didn't think so. Apparently, those thug wannabes are more important than you. He'd rather help them, boys who will never amount to anything, get there sh_ together instead of you. It's sad, but true. I think this would be a good time to delete he's number out of your cell phone.
Miracle:...
Tragedy: You know I'm right. It's just like with HB. You're sweet, kind, but overlooked and replaced with someone else. You fool yourself into think there's something there, but in the end it's all a lie. There is nothing. No bond. No connection. Just lies and lipservice.
