"The answers you want are arriving. Look and you will see"

From the clouds above a great entity begins to descend. A long serpentine dragon, but not one appearing organic in nature. Atop its head, three figures stand as the creature begins to fly down to the border of Spectropolis.

Those with unnatural perception could make out the body of a fourth figure laying behind the three while only those with perception unrivaled could make out the golden form of a fifth descending from the clouds away from the dragon and heading in a direction within the borders of Spectroplis, opposite from the dragon's landing destination.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Re: Lords of Creation, The Second Age

Gentleman Vaultboy
He observes the dragon for only a moment. "Can't be havin' with that." He says, reaching out. There is a deep, base thrum that extending in all directions like passing thunder, a note of finality and defiance.

There is a tall shield in the Veterans hand now. Except that it was always there, you would have had to be blind not to see it glimmering in the hot sun, and it burned with the very being of divinity despite it's in-ornate appearance. Being it its presence was like hearing a wall, feeling the sound of pounding fists, tasting the word no. It was defense given form.

The Veteran peeled off from Anima, shooting over the sand like a silver bolt and coming to a skidding stop before the dragon and its passengers. He took his foot and swept it across the sand, digging a trench, a line. He took the Shield, and slammed it down into the line. That feeling, that "No" feeling, spread out around it's borders. Out in the far ocean sea creatures knocked their heads against an invisible wall. The denizens of Northern Alabastra were separated from their southern cousins. Half of the world was denied the other half, all by this line in the sand.

"Don't right know what your business here is, but you got a mean wrassler mighty spooked." He called out. "So how bout you park that dragon and we'll have a little sit down?"

Murozond, Anima, and the golden figure continue on their paths behind the Veteran's shield, moving within the protective barrier of Spectropolis.

The dragon continues down at a steady pace, being led by the foremost figure riding on its head to curve around the edges of the Veteran's barrier until it reaches the ground. The dragon rests its head on the ground, a mere hands width away from the barrier, and the figures on top of it gaze down at him.

A red entity stands in the front, appearing as if it was the specter of a deceased Dragonborn. A gauntlet made of golden scales covers its right hand and a gem floats as if it were embedded into its ethereal chest.

Behind him, on either side, stand two kings carved of a black substance, mirror images of each other. Their cloaks hang off of one shoulder, covering a wicked blade for each of them, one on the right side and the other on the left. The crown that each wears seems to be carved right out of the material of their body.

"What do we have here?" The foremost figure asks. "Has the Watchman been busy setting up defenses for his precious city since the Monster King's attack? I Hope you don't plan on attacking us without seeing what we want first."

As the last sentence is spoken,a red gleam passes over the eyes of the two figures behind him. They draw their swords, one with its left hand and the other with its right so that the blades hang over either side of the dragon. A multicolored light passes down each blade as it is drawn. On the right, the light flows down the blade as if it were composed of branching rivers of lava. The air crackles as if it were hit with a vacuum and the soil indents as if it were eaten away. On the left, the blade lights up with the pattern of neurons in a brain, but the light around it seems to be eaten away as the ground below frosts over.

"Who's attackin' anyone, hoss?" Says The Veteran, tapping the shield amicably. "The straightforward offense just ain't in my nature. But a boy who I met just today, seems a decent sort if a little thick just between you and me, came here plum scared of y'all. Sides which, I don't know you. What sort of guard would I be if I didn't stop a stranger at the door to ask his business?"

The foremost figure smirks. "Why don't you run along and get the Watchman. I know all about the magic bubble you got around the city so I'm not going to be causing any trouble today. Besides, there is an old friend behind you that I'd like to check up on."

Fotz spun about to face the new voice.

"So I see," he remarked idly.

As he faced the new figure he examined them, looking them up and down.

Re: Lords of Creation, The Second Age

The Veteran

"You me the fellas beatin' feet to get away from ya'?

----------------------------------------------

Fotz looks up and down someone who, in typical Light-Scarred fashion, wasn't wearing much. Though the Spectropolis city watch badge gleamed proudly on her uniform the uniform itself consisted of a sort of armored leotard and a skirt that, quite frankly, served no actual purpose other than to hold said badge. It might have been very excitable for a young man who had never seen the like of Môsôoriku woman before. Might being the optimum word.

One got the impression that there was probably a beautiful young woman there. Maybe. If you dug really deeply and knew what you were looking for. Her blond hair, which by all rights should have been lustrous, instead clung dully to the her head and hung like knotted vines from some ancient jungle temple. Her eyes and nose were both red and watery, there were deep dark circles under both eyes, and while Lights-scarred were both famous for being lithe and pale, this specimen was beyond the pale even by their standards. The mind boggles at how this poor anemic wretch was even still alive, let alone an officer of the peace.

Still, the smile on her face was entirely warm and sincere, radiating a sort of energy that fought it's way up through all the gunk and caused her to shine like the sun. She opened her mouth, paused for three seconds with her eyes crossed, then quickly turned away from him.

*ACHOO* *ACHOO* *ACHOO* *SNOOORRRRRT*

"Excuse me." she said, turning back and wiping her raw nose on her inner arm. "I've had this cold for a while now. My name is Kirie. If you are searching for the officer in charge, I'm afraid that I have the highest rank here."

"He seems to have calmed down enough. Look, he stopped once he got within the edge of that magic bubble of yours."

Behind the speaker, the two black figures keep their swords pointed out.

--------------------------------------------------------

On the opposite side of the city, the golden figure lands down within Spectropolis' streets as well hidden as his capabilities allow. Once he lands, three servitors, gold, silver, and bronze, step out from behind him as if they were always there accompanying him. After a casual glance around, he reveals himself as his party moves forward to mingle with the mortals of Spectropolis.

"Now, I believe I mentioned that you should go get the Watchman's attention."

"Told ya'. Can't. Seclusion. Hold up." he says, raising a finger. He turns his head and calls back to the two inside the city. "Hey, you wanna see this fella? And if so you ain't gonna tear it up inside the city, are ya'?"

The two appear to be standing separate from each other with Murozond still within his lamp. Anima is the one to answer the Veteran's call. "Not particularly, but I doubt his patience will hold. I can not speak for his actions, but I do not fear for his power to reach to anything within the city's borders."

"See? Anima is practically loving the idea of reuniting with me" the foremost figures says.

Fotz stared at the Light-Scarred, desperately attempting to mentally apply a title of authority to the strange being before him. it was after several seconds, he realized he'd not said responded and had been staring at her blankly.

"OH! I ...ah...well..um...I have..I have Files!" Fotz flustered trying to extract the folder of papers from his messenger's bag, "...From the Cheif Wallum in Ah-Lomas. We beleve a very dangerous Alabastrian criminal and his gang have fled here to Spectropolis for unknown reasons. They are very dangerous and we wanted to assist in any way possible so we...uh...The Cheif...had me bring our files on them."

Fotz finally managed to pull the folder free and held it out to Kirie.

"Alright. This checks out." The Veteran says, lifting up his shield. Instantly the wall is gones, vanishing like a stage curtain before a show.

"Name?" He asks the newcomers.

She takes them delicately and reads over them, before gasping in shock and grinning a little. "Oh, I believe I know one of these men. He matches the description of the man Captain Shining had sent out, the 'grinning, thrill killing, arsonist fuck.' She's hopping mad about this man, I'm afraid."

He expression hardens just a little. "Criminal outfits like this typically set up in Undertown. Best place for them, with the constant changes and the winding tunnels. That makes it hard to find their exact location, even with the Witness's scenes." She sighs. "Which means I'll most likely be the one that deals with them. "Oh, poor Shining is going to be so upset....."

The Veteran rolls his eyes inside his helmet. He guessed dramatics went hand in hand with being a deity, but it never really suited him. "I'll make sure he gets the message." He says, lifting off.

The foremost figure dismounts the dragon as the Veteran begins to leave and paces towards the borders of Spectropolis.

"Anima! How kind of you to turn the lights back on for your master! I would of never made it back home if....." his voice trails off as he notices Murozond for the first time, having to completely turn his head with the distance Anima and Murozond had put between themselves.

His mood visibly changes as he inspects the situation and turns to stomp off towards Murozond.

If the Veteran is still nearby, Anima raises his hand, silently asking the Spirit to let the scene play out.
