It was impressive, I'd love to see more of it.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

It's epic. :D

I don't like the fact that it compresses tiers of power like that.
There's no granularity now. These Inherent Powers seem rather.. specific. And mildly pointless. I'd rather they actually have some small ability to manipulate their domain. These "Actions" need more elaboration.

I listed those inherent powers because they cost motes before but I thought they would work better if they were simple inherent powers. We might just have to use a vague rule like "Don't spam heroes" instead of a hard rule. Most of the time we can tell if someone else is creating stuff more than reasonably so we can just step in at those moments.
General inherent powers would still remain (Flight, etc) I just did not decide to list them. I also feel some domain powers should be inherent but I'm not sure how to implement them. Might be easier to just say something vague again and limit inherent domain powers to "simple acts." For actions do you mean the Action/Utility ones I was talking about? For the granularity we could probably work some tiers back in (Stuff like alter nature could easily go below/ cost less than gain domain). We could do three tiers with 4/8/12 mote costs or four tiers 3/6/9/12 mote costs. I chose to put a 4 mote cost and 12 cap so that people could store up and use several powers without having a crazy mote pool to draw from.

The ones that were under the Actions list..
Tiers as in Demi- Minor- Major.

We would use the same elaboration that we used for the old rules. Mythos and things are going to be the same for the most part.
In the first age, was a Spirit being a Demi or a Minor ever a major point? Besides my own pantheon I don't think I could even name the ranks of the other non Over-Spirits because I don't think it ever brought up. They all acted, story wise, as if they were all a tier below the leaders.

Mostly because they were
There was no real benefit for making a weaker version when they would have to go through the same events as a Major would. Were there any cases outside my pantheon where being a Demi or Minor was important that I did not notice? Another major reason why I thought it would be better to cut them out was simply for balancing. Each rank was supposed to be twice as strong as the rank below it, making Over-Spirits have to equal 8 Demi-Spirits. If a Demi-Spirit had only one mote of power, an Over-Spirit had to be 8x stronger. If Demi-Spirits have artifacts, an Over-Spirit had to be 8x strong with all the artifacts it had combined. Since we are changing to the Tool of Office idea, this problem is slightly easier, but balancing for two tiers is a lot easier than balancing for four.

Well, if you look at it, I had 7 Major Goddesses and 2 Minor Goddesses. The 2 Minors never really did much because they were created by Mina right before she entered the tournament grounds and thus didn't do much since right after the tournament was the Monsterking arc.
For Crav, all his Minors/Majors were made during the Monsterking arc. Wulf, well.... he actually had his Minors making Divine Artifacts, the act of an Overgod, so ignore his gods for now... Mik, he only made Major gods so.... Is there anyone other than you I'm missing? Oh, right, GV's Watchman made all of his gods from himself but they were all shown to have different levels of power with the Babysitter as weakest but most witty.

Because, with the lowest level of power, you can have extraordinary mortals defeating demi-gods.
Which is something that occasionally happens in myths. Also, I kind of wanted a slow downward spiral of power in the roleplay. Shifting focus from the mightiest to the lowest. Mostly out of amusement.

We could still have that. I mean, we already sort of do with Aox and now Vault has his strange creature that was fused with the Copy Spirits.
I really don't like that second part though. It makes characters obsolete that we have invested a lot of time into. We have a good balance now where we can use either Spirits or Mortals for things.

No. We couldn't, really. Those are both uber-plot events, not plucky heroes..
Also: They wouldn't vanish. Just move out of the foreground a bit. But, if no one wants to, I can hardly force it.

I'm all for shifting focus to lesser beings like mortals and demi gods. I plan to actually.

On one hand, we don't really want the Spirits of the world getting killed off regularly. On the other, it doesn't have to be impossible, by cutting out the extra ranks, a mortal could contend with any Spirit save an Over-Spirit if we set up the plot for it.
I really don't want to switch over to a Mortal only story with all the non-Mortal characters we have just becoming back ground characters to be seen rarely. The entire set of rules is based off the Spirits. As you said though, I can't force it either. If everyone wants to switch with this I'll work something up. I'd just go ahead and say have those mortal interactions and events under the current set up.

Honestly I don;t think Zale meant that the Gods would be removed from the story, only that there would be less of a focus on them. They will not have as many related posts as they do now but will still be there. Lesser entities will have more adventures know though.

I still don't really like it, I mean this is a "Lords of Creation" RP. The point of view of the RP is the whole world and how its shaped and that is seen through and carried out mostly by the Spirits. If we say to stop focusing on them and have them only appear occasionally then this turns into just another RP in a fantasy setting. We can still have adventures with heroes, even ones where we don't have the Spirits step in and end it.

Phi, I don't think you're hearing me. We aren't putting the gods on a shelf to use occasionally. We're just using them less. Not so much less that they become ill used characters, but enough less that the focus is not entirely on them and only them.

I just want to be able to use whichever character is most relevant at the time or the one I'm most interested in at the time. So I don't want either only Spirits or only Mortals. I feel that the current setup works for that, so long as we don't have the Spirits put an immediate end to anything the Mortals try.
So, by what you're saying, I think we're on the same page.
