Although in all fairness it would have to be with other gods, otherwise it would just produce a demigod, meaning hero.

Or there's the alternate greek way like the way Aphrodite and Athena were born.

memmory and despair....and he didn't die, he's just been reduced to a mindless sockpuppet that looks like a mummiffied stick figure with hollow white eyes.

Although if he actually did die then the affect on the populace would pretty much reduce them into amnesiacs on antidepressant medication.
