But your character representation is hard and crystalline on the outside with a wizened and textured interior...sometimes with nut.

Souls, memories, for practical purposes they're the same thing. He gains insight into the life of the things he kills.

Indeterminate in that it lacks secondary sexual characteristics. While it has a masculine musculature, it also has the sort of violin like build associated with feminine beauty. It's more of a combination of male and female. I though that would make it more angelic looking.

No mouth, so this one can't speak. The Third Beat can't do that either, it's mouth is too weird. The Little Imps can do recon, be messengers, or swarm attack.

That picture comes from Brutal Legend, an action/RTS by Tim Schafer (of Psychonauts, Grim Fandango, and Monkey Island fame) that takes pace in the world of Metal.

It's really more of a glide then a fly. The big one is a solid 8, but it sacrifices speed and precision. The three different Beats all have different things. The first one is a equal balance of speed and strength. The second Beat doubles his height and reach, and increases precision and swing speed, but it sacrifices raw strength and movement speed for this. Beat three increase his bulk, and his speed and precision plummets as a result. Raw power, however, is increased.

Beat one looks and moves mostly human.
Two is bigger than that, and looks and moves like a spider that walks upright. Long, emaciated looking limbs that really shouldn't be able to support it.
Beat three adds on the bulk that beat two looks like it needs. It moves like a dinosaur, ready to throw is weight around.

Yes, he is, but I thought actually saying he was from Georgia would make it too obvious.

Good, I've got a favor to ask though, sInce I've got Marv working on the Monsters and I've seen you fiddling with adding music to your Apocalyse rp to get a certain atmosphere for the settings, I want you to help me with the soundtrack.

Hey, Is this sort being more in the style of what you're looking for? Cause I totally want it to be my character if it is.

I based him off the word Wub out of Dubstep music.

Gotta ask though. Do you want more bright and graffiti-like colors or a quieter pallet for these monsters.

And should I base them off music genres like Rock, Electronic, Emo, Country, or Screamo?

I don't know all that much about "real" music, but the first thing I thought of when you described the strange music was the soundtrack to Drakengard.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0v1FinSlKg&list=PL6F00DF33EF0D3E4E

Weird, discordant, slightly uncomfortable to listen to, and best of all none of it is original. Instead, the developers took various real word symphonies from the public domain and remixed them into what you hear.

I sort of get the feeling that every character should have their own collection of more ordered music that counteracts the effects of the weird stuff. Like so:

Any specific monsters you need OR should I just start hammering out a bunch of random ones OR should I just wait till you need them and design them later?

Marv: also good incorportating the headphones into your design, I don't know if I remembered to mention it or not but all of the character's need some sort of listening device incorporated into their gear in order to counteract the noise.

Vault: The first music is a step in the right direction, do you know anything a bit more dischordiant, if not it's cool, as for the rest, exactly what I'm looking for.

You might try something like this...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNWaJ8YReCM

or any other psychedelic music. They tend to be rather discordant.

Not really. Drakengard is the most uncomfortable to listen to soundtrack I own, and I mean that in the best way. I guess if you searched out a band that specifically tried to play like that.

whichever floats your boat brah, It's nice to have a repository that we we can further flesh out the designs, but continually turning out new ones while I'm simultaneously asking for specific things might be a bit much, don't want to strain you.

Sorry didn't see the bottom portion of the question until now.

Bright graffiti palette would be best and as for the basing them off musical genres, yes...although metal might have to be reserved for bosses.

Sure, just let me finish up the two other beats for my Wub Guy and I'll get right on that.

Technically as many as is feasibly possible. Think of them less as physical forms and more as a logical progression of mutations existing beatween beat beast and normal forms. The states between the two forms that are stable are certain mixes of beast and human that utilize the abilities of human or beast.

But if you're looking for a straight answer, let's just go with an average of three not counting human form. the least you could have is one = full beat beast.

On second thought, let's just make the maximum 3. sub beat, half beat, and full beat.
