What about Metabolism Control? Cure obesity overnight, reduce (but by no means eliminate) hunger and allow anyone to be any weight they want eating anything they want.

If someone else uses it on them, they just need to change it themselves.

That's just a theory. You can't prove that. If it arose as a species-wise capability, I actually think they would make the most of it. In other words, no need to provide for the poor, because who cares? They won't starve. No need for food stamps, or social security, or anything meant to preserve the welfare of the less fortunate.

It might not be pretty, but if it turns out bad, it wouldn't turn out bad in the way you say.
