 I feel your pain; I almost got caught by the Over Quota, too.

That's why I keep two tabs open when I add/edit; one for the addition or edit, and one for the main site. Every few minutes, I refresh the main-site page. If it says Over Quota, I finish the entry I'm working on, then copy-paste it to a word document to save for later (when the main site comes back up).

Some pages will show up for me, like the login page and add a power page, but it will not recognize me, or let me add a power without registering.

I think your best bet for now is to look through the forum for interesting things to do here. The main site seems really to be on the fritz.

Like, for example, you can entertain yourself with some of the games in the Internet Awesomeness section. Or you can join in on some of the thread discussions in the different sections we have here. You can also give some of the RPs a chance down near the bottom of the forum.

There's even a sandbox page for working on new powers. It's useable even when the main site is down.

Steps to use the sandbox:

1. Fill out the power description on the sandbox page.

2. Pull up the main site in a separate tab.
2a. If the main site is up, copy the power description from the sandbox page to the main site's "Add a Power" page.
2b. If the main site is down, come back later when the site is up, and then follow step 3a.

3. When you've filled in the page on main site's "Add a Power" page, refresh the page
3a. If the main site is still up, then continue to submit the power to be reviewed by site mods.
3b. If the main site is closed, then close the main site tab, and leave the sandbox page tab up; come back later, and try again when the main site is up
3c. OR, if the main site is closed, copy the power from the sandbox page onto a word document, and save the file for later. You are then free to come back and retry submission later (recommended option).

These options always work for me, when I want to create and edit new powers, but the site is down.

Actually, Musical and Sound Manipulation was swapped with Omni Gas Manipulation. And Ambient Temporal Field was swapped with Omni Solid Manipulation. If a mod has the time to correct the swaps...

In case a mod (an SPL mod) wants to correct a power swap:
1) Alter the name of only one of the powers (just remove or add a letter, any change that can be easily found and reversed) NB: You can't give it the name of the other power yet, as the SPL doesn't allow powers to have the same name.
2) Re-submit it;
3) Re-approve it;
4) Open the edit pages of both powers you want to switch back;
5) Cut/paste back and forth all the information of one power to the other (name, overview, tags...);
6) Correct the alteration you made at step 1;
7) Re-submit the power you corrected at step 6;
8) Then, re-submit the other power;
9) Re-approve both powers.
