Though, I am grateful how My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic kind of made it okay for straight guys to like things that girls 'traditionally' like...The gender equalizing component is all politically correct and whatnot.

Been Playing this game on my phone for awhile called D.O.T. - Defenders of Texel. It's a pretty awesome team fighter game where you collect fighters and combine them to evolve them and fight as a team of 9. Everything is Pixelated like an 16-bit videogame so it has a fun nostalgia factor going for it too. I highly recommend it. And if you beat the first few intro levels then enter the code  Lfoq  in the refer a friend section. You'll get a cool rare fighter courtesy of me.

What should I be doing to get the basics set up? Like getting you on friends list, organizing my party, etc.

I'd suggest running through a few of the basic missions and obtaining some pixite or doxite from them. Spend the pixite or doxite in the "Build" section and start building up a collection. If you have any spare fighters of the same name, fuse them together.

When leveling fighters there are a couple important things to keep in mind. Fusing different fighters together only raises the level of the main fighter you're fusing them with. Fusing two or more fighters of the same name is called Self-Fusion or SEF. If you fuse 6 of the same name fighters together that fighter will upgrade into the next rank. Rank is determined by the letter in the upper right of their icon.
