"What attracted the burglar to this house was the fact that they didn't close the blinds of a window. When he looked inside, there were no signs of activity, so he assumed correctly that they were all asleep. However, he spotted a sleeping dog through the window and, fearing it would bark as soon as it heard someone at the door, he used his power of
Sweet Appearances and conjured a piece of chocolate inside the house, right next to it. Not knowing what it was, the dog smelled it and had a taste of it. It immediatly grew fond of it, so the burglar conjured even more chocolates for the dog to eat. After a while, the dog vomitted and collapsed on the floor, dying from chocolate poisoning. The burglar was now free to pick the locks and have his hands on whatever he wants."
(Yeah, in case you didn't know, chocolate contains theobromine, which is extremely lethal to dogs. It can also be lethal to humans, but a much bigger quantity is needed because humans process the theobromine much faster than dogs.)
