Funny Game Maker

Whaliens123
Feel free to shoot this topic down, it may be the lamest thing the internet has ever laid eyes upon.

I recently found a Video Game Name gen which makes ridiculous (although sometimes serious) game names. Some of the names it has generated for me are the following;

Kung-Fu Alligator Uprising
Lair of the Penguin Knights
Killer Moon Marines
Horrifying Janitor 2000
Fancy Sewer Incident
Atomic Turtle Inferno

I was wondering if it would be a good source of inspiration for future games of this forum, or at the very least ridiculous conversation topics. So, generate a name and post some of your results here. But as I said, feel free to shove it right down the bottom of the games pile. It could be so lame, the internet shudders in its presence...

This is the one I used, but there are many others you could use if you want to.

Hm...I think we could come up with some fun superpowered adventures with this.

Thanks for your optimism, Shadowulf. But I think it's not that good an idea. But thanks anyway.
Also, have you found Justin? Given the amount of time that he has been away from the site, would it be possible for him to have somehow died?

I do think it has promise for some fun times on the forum.

And no, I have no clue where Justin is.

Inspired by my post down in the RP creator thread?

Anyone have any ideas on how to create a first person shooter out of guitar hero while still keeping the themes of making music and matching notes?

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

A guitar that shoots lasers basically. Its controlled by pressing a sequence of buttons whilst running about and aiming the thing at enemies. Keeping in time with the sequence offers more powerful and wide ranged attacks while going too fast or slow lessens the impact.

I'm having problems with controls though. If we use a play station control for example and require them to use the square, circle, triangle, x buttons to do the guitar sequence, then that limits how they control the camera and jump.

Outcome:

Philote wrote
Guns N’ Roses is a first person shooter where you play as Slash as he uses the power of rock to shoot excitement into his fans and take down rival legends. As Slash, the player is able to move around the concert grounds of different tour zones and manipulate the environment by empowering the fans and band equipment in the area by shooting them with rock and roll energy produced by the guitar he is using. As Slash is doing this, rival rock legends will try to disrupt Guns N’ Roses’ tour and Slash will have to overpower their fan base with his in order to proceed to the next area of the tour. With the defeat of each rival legend, Slash will gain the music copyrights and equipment of the one he defeated, allowing him to have additional rock moves to use in the next tour area.
Guns N’ Roses final version would be playable on either the Xbox One or the Playstation 4 systems to make use of the four shoulder buttons. The two joysticks of the controllers will control Slash’s movement and vision while the four face buttons of the controllers will command Slash to jump, interact, melee attack, or begin to play his guitar. While Slash is playing his guitar, notes will be played across the bottom of the screen, in Guitar Hero’s style, that matches to the four shoulder buttons of the controller. The notes that are played correspond to the music and equipment combo that Slash currently has with him. As the player matches the notes, varying streams of rock energy come out of Slash’s guitar that can then be guided by the player by positioning Slash. Using the rock energy, Slash can fight off fans of rival legends, take over area containing band equipment, and impress his fans until he has dominated the tour area.
Graphically, Guns N’ Roses will keep true to Guitar Hero’s cartoonish style with exaggerated design on the characters and environmental objects. Throughout the game, the player will control Slash in a variety of different tour areas ranging from outdoor concerts to the base of an island volcano. Each of these areas is littered with loyal and rival fans and environmental objects thematically changed to fit the zone. The environmental objects include things such as speakers, food carts, merchandise stalls, and tour busses. Specialized objects for each zone, such as a tiki totem for the volcano area, mark areas that are worth more for Slash’s fan base to dominate the area. The majority of each tour area is made up of large crowds of fans that Slash must maneuver around and influence. Each group of fans varies with the amount of dominance that they bring to Slash over the area, with the ones bringing more dominance or assistance against rival fans taking more rock energy to empower.
A prototype for this game should be made so that the unique mix between first person shooting and guitar hero mechanics can be experimented with. The scope of the prototype would cover a single tour zone with a rival legend of rock boss at the end. Within the tour zone, the player would control Slash as he recovers one of each of the different objectives that can be empowered by rock from the enemy fan base and ultimately take on the rival legend. In the prototype, the player would be able to gain access to three different guitar and music combos with which to affect the tour zone with. A prototype is necessary in order to test if it is both possible and fun for the player to control the moment and aiming of Slash at the same time as they play the Guitar Hero notes for their rock powers.

Well so far, we should have the alpha of the game running in two weeks.

Game the Third:

Philote wrote
Genesis is a God of War style third person action-adventure game where you play as the caveman Abel, the son of Adam and Eve during the fall of man and humanities banishment from the Garden of Eden. The player, as Abel, must survive the transition of humanity from the Garden of Eden to the outside world by fighting sin-filled cavemen, dinosaurs, and beings from the afterlife by using Abel’s club and powers gained throughout the game. The game begins as Adam and Eve eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, infecting Abel and humanity with sin and causing the Tree of Life to wither and drop one of its branches for Abel to use as a club to defend himself in the now sin filled world. The club, being from the Tree of Life, is able to grow and reshape itself making different combat and movement options available to the player, such as having the club grow out and grapple onto a target and then pull the player towards the object. With humanity filled with sin, an angel with a flaming sword comes down to drive humans out of Eden, motivating the player and Abel to travel across the vast distance of the garden and experience exaggerated versions of events in the Bible, such as Noah’s Flood and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. As Abel moves throughout these events, he gains access to more powers for the player to use, such as pillar of salt ability from Sodom and Gomorrah.
The opening sequence of this game builds up to a scene where the identity of Abel is revealed and the effects of sin entering the world are shown. Abel, a nameless caveman at the beginning of the game, rushes home to check on his family with the branch from the Tree of Life in hand. Abel finds Cain, his brother who is already corrupted by sin, and is forced to fight and kill him. At this point, the player learns Abel’s name and that he has become the first murderer in the world, an opposite of the way the event played out in the Bible. Abel receives the same mark as Cain does in the Bible for becoming the first murderer and gains his first power outside of that gained from the Tree of Life. The nature of the mark is to harm sevenfold whoever harms Abel and is used by the player to defend against and reflect damage done to Abel when the power is used.
The Garden of Eden is a vast continent like expanse that is supposed to mirror the magnitude of the fall of man. This sense of magnitude is also carried into the design of structures and many enemies within the setting that Abel must either scale across or tear down. Throughout the game, the paradise is destroyed and humans attempt and fail to rebuild what they once had, leading to the biblical events that Abel faces. For the humans most affected by sin, the corruption becomes a physical substance that Abel must fight against. The sense of time is skewed during the game, as humanity is still in the process of becoming fully mortal from the fall of man, allowing for the quick progression between biblical events within the game.
Genesis builds off of the popularity of games like God of War by building a vast world for the player to experience with new gear and abilities. The main experience of the game is the combat, both against numerous enemies and against large creatures that must be toppled. Segments of transversing the environment and opening up new paths serve to compliment the main experience and magnitude of the game. The further the player progresses through the game, the more abilities they gain access to, allowing them face each combat encounter in a way that suits their play style.
