Why does it have to be dimensional shields? Why not regular lazer-deflecting shields.

Because lazor deflecting shields don't gurad against meteorites, and nuclear bombs., and reality bending, and mind control, et cetera.

but why dimensional? Being dimensional has nothng to do with any of those. Just make it a superpowered shield, don't use words like dimensional if it has nothing to do with it.

Dimensional deals with how it works. It's actually a field of warped space time that creates a shielding arua around them, so I was using a discriptive name.

Still, you're over thinking it. All you need is a shield, you don;t have to try and make it sound cool by going out of your way to make something that would serve the same purpose as a simpler object.
