Josh glanced about his surroundings to pass the time as he and Axel followed the map's directions.

As you start to get off the main roads, the city starts to look...pretty much the same, just less personalized. Along the main thoroughfares the gangs left their marks, graffiti, paint, and posters. Anything to make the city feel more alive. But deep in the alleys and side-street the walls were still pristine white. Always pristine white. It was enough to make a kid go crazy.

Finally, you reach one of the cities many edges, and the large iron door that lead into the maintenance tunnels. That's where they Echoes lived. The rest of the gangs lived inside the city. The Echoes lived inside the city.

It looks like the door is securely shut.

[Philote]

I go up to the door and  begin examining how to open it.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

Looks like a simple wheel door, like the kind they have on ships that can seal chambers. You could probably open it no problem.

[Philote]

I place my metal bat between the bars of the wheel and use it as a lever to to turn the wheel and open the door.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

The wheel spins freely, and you wrench open the door to ravel a flight of grey metal stairs, leading down into the darkness.

[Philote]

I grab a rock and wrap some cloth around it before lighting it on fire. Holding the flaming rock in my hand for a moment, I toss the light source down the stairs.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

It bounces down until it gets to some sort of landing, where it rolls to a stop and reveals another two sets of stairs going down to the left and right. As it fell, you were just able to see somethings sitting on the 3rd step from the bottom.

"Ominous.....should we head down?"

[Philote]

"Of course" Axel replies "There are things I can burn down there."

Axel leads the way down, using his flaming bat to light the way.

As the two of you make your way down, you get a good look at the thing on the step. It's a hat, one of those old ones worn by the flapper girls of the 1920. It's pink, and a large red 2 is emblazoned on one side.

At the landing, Axels makeshift torch reviles that the stairs go down into the dark depths, the parts of the city no one was meant to see. The parts that had to work for a living. You can see something laying on the 5th stair down the right staircase from where you are, but not much beyond that. A low gentle hum, like machinery, is all you hear in the dark.

Axel taps his flaming bat against the hat and grins as a nice flame begins to grow on it.

Seeing something down the right staircase, Axel chooses that direction to investigate first.

As he head down, he see that the item is a bright pink mink, strung out over several steps. At the bottom of the stairs you find a corridor. Pipes run along the top, and their are doors leading off into side rooms. You don't see any clues, at least not within the range of your light.

The humming is louder down here.

[Philote]

Axel walks up to the first door and points with his baseball bat, signalling for the others to check the remaining rooms. He entered and took his light source with him.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

It appears to be a room containing computer towers. Various black monoliths stand in long rose, like tombstones. Various lights blink on and off on them. The room is climate controlled, and a faint mist flouts close to the ground. It's very cold, and the light from your torch doesn't go far enough to reveal the walls.

The humming persists.

Ace galnced around the room, staring at the strange monoliths as th elights flickered on and off incessently just beneath the surface. A chill crept up his spine causing him to shiver involuntarily.
"This area's to open,I don't like it, if they already know we're heare we're sitting ducks for an ambush."

[Philote]

"There's nobody to burn in here" Axel said annoyed. "We're wasting time here, lets head further down until they decided to reveal themselves."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"I'll take point, I'm probably better to defend than you are."

[Philote]

"Then you will need this" Axel commented, handing a homemade torch built together from the supplies that he carried in his equipment bag.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

As you all make your way down the hallway, something glints in the darkness before a door labeled "UNDERWORKS." It's a small, open compact. The Mirror reflects the light and glimmers in the dark.

The humming is louder here.
