Like with all the times before, a portal opened as the Colossus died, this time a bright yellow. All members of the party were sucked through as the Colossus crumbled to ash to an unknown realm. As the portal faded, an odd stone was left behind, the artifact did not make it through the portal with the group and was lost.

Realm: Energy

Field: The area is a three-layer field of clouds, of varying sizes and shapes (some like stepping stones, some like vast fields, rolling hills and great mountains). The middle layer is solid enough to stand on. The bottom layer is thinly tangible, like quicksand (you could only stand on them a short time before you sink through; this means you'd have to move constantly to keep from falling into the gray nothingness of an endless stormy sky). And above the middle field, the clouds are entirely intangible, unable to be stood on at all (you'd fall immediately back to the middle layer). Occasionally, lightning passes harmlessly between one cloud layer and another. If touched by a lightning bolt, one transports from one field to another.

Colossus: A fierce colossus. At first, it appears to be only a great bird, but when it spots prey, it changes into an energy form. It may be a form of pure light (capable of projecting lasers and bolts and blasts), a form of fire (capable of breathing and manipulating fire, and hurling fireballs), or of electricity (capable of zapping and electrocuting anyone unfortunate enough to get in its way). Its sight is going, however, so when it loses sight of its prey, it often bursts into a swarm of hummingbird sized mini-colossi. These are each composed of whatever the bird's current energy is. It never mixes elements.

I inhale deeply. The energy coursing through the air is amazing. I look around and I'm fascinated to see a cloud that looks like a huge mountain! From it issues forth numerous waterfalls and springs.

And beyond is a field of hill-like clouds, and valley-like clouds, and beyond those a vast sky, with a ceiling of still more clouds, a mix of black and lovely gray.

The realm exhilarates me, and I feel very at home.

"Can't wait to get my hands on this next colossus."
