How about something to interact more physically with spirits? That should be a useful spell that doesn't put you too far ahead of the others in power.

Marv, I need you to set up a class with Zane as well, something where I can practice with mage tool and finish learning how to make different wards for different elements.

Well, the shield wing has far to many wards up for that to work and I doubt you'd get far into the Headmaster's office without getting caught. but you can certainly try.
